No Health Insurance?
Centre Volunteers in Medicine (CVIM), a local nonprofit agency, provides free primary medical care to Centre County residents without health insurance.
CVIM may be able to provide, at no cost to you:
- Appointments with a family doctor for:
- Preventative care
- Primary care
- Prescription medications
- Referrals to specialists
- Diagnostic tests/labs
CVIM does not provide:
- Surgery
- Prenatal care
- Emergency treatment
CVIM also assists patients with accessing other social service help that may be available, as well as enrollment in public and low-cost insurance programs.
No Dental Insurance?
CVIM also provides free primary dental care to Centre County residents without dental insurance. Dental services may have a waiting list -- patients are prioritized based on emergency needs.
CVIM may be able to provide, at no cost to you:
- Preventative care, including :
- Exams
- Cleanings
- X-rays
- Sealants
- Restorative dental care
- Extractions
- Referrals to specialists
- Limited orthodontic care for children
CVIM does not provide:
- Cosmetic dentistry
- Dentures (CVIM may be able to help obtain funding for dentures)
- Bridges
- Crowns
To qualify for either medical or dental care, patients must have a household income at or below 200% of the federal poverty guidelines, call (814) 231-4043 for help. Patients are seen by appointment only. Please contact CVIM to see if you qualify.
Note: All persons interested in becoming a CVIM patient MUST phone CVIM to begin the eligibility process (this can not be completed via email). To prevent delays in this process, please call CVIM at 814.231.4043 during regular business hours, Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. to complete a phone intake to determine eligibility.

CVIM will make every effort to keep patient appointments, even in bad weather. Patients will be called if there is a need to reschedule. If you need to cancel your appointment, please call CVIM at 814.231.4043. |
